This tour is designed for those people who are vacationing on the island of Roatan and want to know more than just West End or West Bay and are interested in seeing and experiencing the entire island, its hidden treasures, its local culture and its ecosystems.
WHAT DOES THIS TOUR CONSIST OF ?
This tour begins at the door of Casa Mantra or your accommodation address.
A certified local Tour Guide will pick you up at the door of your house and will take you to see places not so visited by tourists, such as local villages with their culture and gastronomy, their ecosystems, their desert beaches, their animal park and their handicraft factories.
INTINERARY
Local Handicraft Factories:
As you may know, the Caribbean region is known for the production of products such as coffee, cocoa and rum. On this tour we will be visiting the chocolate production factory and the rum factory.
Animal Park:
On our visit to our animal park you can carry sloths, see the macaw (our national bird), learn more about toucans, monkeys, and go through hanging bridges and ecosystems.
Local Villages:
We will visit the communities of Jonesville and Punta Gorda where we will also have our lunch (included in the price)
Roatan Ecosystems:
The last part of our tour will be on board to discover the wonderful ecosystem of mangroves and their crystal-clear waters. Mangroves are essential on our island as they protect the coasts from sea erosion but they also serve as the first refuge for the wonderful and colorful marine life.
